What is an AMBER Alert?
The AMBER Alert system is a nationwide notification system designed to inform the public about missing children who are under the age of 18.
Alerts are disseminated through various channels including radio, television, road signs, cellphones, and other data-enabled devices.
In the previous year, the AMBER Alert system successfully located 1,200 children, leading to their safe recovery. Additionally, 180 children were rescued thanks to the emergency alerts.
An alert will only be issued if there has been an abduction, the child is in danger of serious harm or death, and there are detailed descriptions of the child, the suspect, or the suspect’s vehicle.
