A Randall County Jury Sentenced A Man For Driving Over A Man With A Truck

A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by a Randall County jury. The incident occurred in August of 2022.

On September 10, 2022, Jerrod Allen Standridge was found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He had deliberately used his truck to run over another individual in August of the same year.

Standridge engaged in a heated argument with another individual while inside his vehicle. This altercation escalated, resulting in Standridge physically striking the other person.

Standridge’s victim managed to escape from his pickup truck, only to be ruthlessly run over by Standridge himself.

The victim sustained several injuries and was unable to walk, according to officials.

The Randall County jury listened to testimony from the victim, the victim’s spouse, and several police officers who were involved in the investigation of the crime.

During the sentencing on September 11th, the state presented evidence indicating that Standridge had been placed on probation multiple times.

In 2012, Standridge was found guilty of robbing an individual at gunpoint, according to the evidence presented.

Standridge was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Department of Corrections by the judge, who also ordered financial restitution after considering all the evidence presented.

Standridge must serve half of his sentence before he becomes eligible for parole, as the crime involved a deadly weapon.
