Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced on Monday that a Gardendale man pleaded guilty to a child pornography felony in Jefferson County.
Dustin Van Faulker, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of disseminating obscene material portraying someone under the age of 17. Alabama’s Department of Corrections sentenced Dustin Van Faulker to five years.
“Child exploitation has no place in our society and inflicts unimaginable pain and suffering upon the most vulnerable among us,” Marshall said in a statement. “My office will continue to work with law enforcement across the state to identify, target, and prosecute these predators to the fullest extent of the law.”
When Faulker completes his term, he must promptly register as a sex offender and comply with Alabama’s Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
