A woman is safe after police say a man kidnapped her in the parking lot of a Sam’s Club in La Marque on Friday afternoon.
This began around 2 p.m. in the business’s parking lot on the Gulf Freeway.
The La Marque Police Department reports that they forced the woman into her vehicle at gunpoint in the parking lot. They then instructed her to drive to her home in League City.
When they arrived at her home, the victim was able to escape her kidnapper and notify authorities. League City police officers apprehended the kidnapping suspect at a nearby apartment complex, according to investigators.
Police stated that there was no more threat to the public.
Police report that the victim did not sustain any injuries during the kidnapping. Investigators are currently looking into the adduction and burglary that occurred during the incident.
