Former Scottish rugby player Stuart Hogg accused of stalking a second woman following his arrest

Stuart Hogg, a former Scotland rugby captain, has been detained and accused of stalking and breaching his bail conditions after returning to the UK to face trial, as per reported Mirror.

Hogg just came out of retirement to join Montpellier and had been practicing with his new squad in France before traveling to Scotland to face claims of stalking and controlling behavior against his wife Gillian, which he denied.

However, because of three fresh charges, his trial will now take place in November at Selkirk Sheriff Court. They include two breach of bail charges against his wife, as well as allegations that he stalked another lady, Jill O’Donnell.

Hogg is accused of targeting her on April 1 and August 23 of last year, with court papers alleging he “did engage in a course of conduct which caused her fear or alarm in that you did repeatedly telephone her at antisocial hours, repeatedly send her messages of an alarming and distressing nature, and repeatedly contact her having been asked not to do so.”

Hogg was also charged with stalking and an offense under Section 1 of the Domestic Abuse Scotland Act in November for his actions towards his wife, with the 32-year-old accused of creating her “fear and alarm” during a seven-year period from 2017 to 2024.

According to the additional allegations, he repeatedly called and messaged his ex-wife on August 23, violated bail restrictions on August 12 by contacting her via video chat, and then on August 17 by parking his car in such a way that she could not drive away and speak to her.

Hogg denies all three new allegations and has been released on bail.

Judge Sheriff Peter Paterson gave an explanation for his decision to release Hogg on bail, stating:

“But you are not to enter (her house) and you are not to approach, attempt to approach, or contact Gillian Hogg in any way. That means you can say absolutely nothing to her at all under any circumstances.”
