The U.S. government has declined to disclose the nationalities of individuals on the FBI’s terror watchlist who have been apprehended at the southern border. They argue that doing so could potentially reveal weaknesses within law enforcement and also provide terrorists with valuable information.
Fox News made a request through the Freedom of Information Act in October of last year. The request aimed to obtain the nationalities of individuals apprehended between ports of entry, excluding any personal identifying information. The government, however, declined the request, citing privacy concerns for the individuals involved.
In a letter to Fox News, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) emphasized their commitment to safeguarding individuals’ identities and refraining from disclosing any personal information, whether through direct or indirect methods.
According to the letter, disclosing such information may expose the tactics employed in investigating and capturing terrorists. It emphasized that this could potentially enable individuals to modify their actions in order to elude detection and exploit vulnerabilities in CBP’s law enforcement intelligence, thereby jeopardizing national security.
House Republicans released a report revealing that the Biden administration encountered and subsequently released 99 unauthorized migrants on the terror watchlist between 2021 and 2023.
Ohio Representative Jim Jordan recently released a report on his social media account, revealing that the migrants originated from 36 diverse countries. These countries include regions with a known terrorist presence, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Syria, Turkey, and Yemen.
The document begins by stating that the open-border policies of President Joe Biden and border czar Vice President Kamala Harris have resulted in the entry of millions of illegal aliens into the United States. It also highlights the concerning fact that these policies have allowed terrorist organizations and other bad actors to gain access to the country, posing a potential threat to the safety and well-being of Americans.
The article highlights the connection between the perceived lack of enforcement and the circumstances that led to the September 11 attacks. It emphasizes that even after more than two decades, national security experts are once again expressing concerns about the growing risk of terrorism in the United States. These concerns are attributed to the open-border policies implemented by the Biden-Harris Administration.
Furthermore, the article highlights the assertion that government officials are persistently downplaying the severity of the national security crisis caused by the border situation. It also provides accounts of recent incidents involving the encounter of migrants from the watchlist who were not promptly apprehended or deported.
The document mentions the encounter of more than 400 migrants who were brought into the U.S. by an ISIS-affiliated network. These individuals were labeled as “subjects of concern.” According to a recent report, by late June, approximately 50 of them were still at large. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are actively searching for them to make arrests on terrorism charges.
The authorities have taken action against 150 individuals, arresting some, deporting others, and currently tracking down 17 more who may soon be apprehended. It is also possible that some individuals have already left the country of their own accord.
According to a senior ICE official who spoke with NBC News, law enforcement has been apprehending migrants associated with the network for several months. Currently, there is no information indicating that these individuals could pose a threat to the United States. Some of them have been released since they were not included on the government’s terrorism watchlist.
Recently, authorities have made arrests of eight men from Tajikistan who are believed to have connections with ISIS. During a hearing in early June, Attorney General Merrick Garland expressed his concern about the potential for a terrorist attack in the country after October 7. This reference was made in light of the attack by Hamas on Israel, which led to a conflict in the Middle East and caused unrest in the United States. Garland emphasized the significant increase in the threat level, stating that every morning they are worried about the possibility of such an attack.
The document goes on to provide further evidence to back up its assertions, emphasizing that communities are already experiencing the negative consequences of the immigration policies implemented by the Biden-Harris Administration. However, it suggests that the situation could potentially worsen in the future.
“The report concludes that the Biden-Harris Administration is giving higher priority to illegal aliens, including hundreds on the terrorist watchlist and individuals from terrorist-sympathizing countries, rather than focusing on the safety and security of the American people. It calls for the passage of a bill that would enhance border security.”
