Americans Can Still Claim Up To $11.5k From $8.8m MSG Health Data Breach Settlement – Just Submit A Receipt

MCG Health, a healthcare information services provider, is offering substantial compensation due to a data breach that exposed sensitive personal information, including Social Security numbers and medical records. The company was sued over the data breach in February 2020 that allegedly exposed private customer information, per Top Class Actions. MCG Health has settled for $8.8 million and is now distributing payments of up to $11,500 to affected individuals.

Eligibility and Payment Amounts

Class members can claim up to $11,500, with up to $1,500 available for ordinary expenses and up to $10,000 for extraordinary losses such as fraud or identity theft. Acceptable documentation includes receipts, invoices, bank statements, and police reports. Those without proof of losses can receive an alternate cash payment, which will vary based on the number of claims filed.

Important Deadlines

To receive compensation, claimants must submit a valid claim form by September 30, 2024. For those wishing to exclude themselves from the settlement or object, the deadline is August 29, 2024. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for September 13, 2024.

In addition to the MCG Health settlement, there are other opportunities for compensation, including a $3.88 million settlement related to overcharging on tuna products and various other settlements for insurance data breaches and surcharges.
