Man Wanted For Colorado Kidnapping Apprehended In Arkansas

A man wanted by law enforcement in Colorado was apprehended by deputies in Boone County, Arkansas, specifically in Harrison.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has recently announced in a press release that the Branson Police Department (BPD) has been collaborating with Colorado law enforcement in their efforts to locate Corey Lee Handy. Handy is facing charges of forcefully abducting a woman at gunpoint.

Handy, in addition to being involved in the kidnapping, was also wanted for a parole violation related to a murder conviction in 2012.

On August 21st, the BPD detectives successfully located Handy’s vehicle at a residence in Harrison, Arkansas. With the assistance of the Harrison Police Department and its Special Operations Team, the BCSO deputies established surveillance of the residence.

Law enforcement officers successfully apprehended Handy as he tried to flee in his vehicle, just before they could execute the search warrant on his residence. Without any trouble, they managed to block his car and took him into custody.

Handy is presently detained in the Boone County Jail as authorities arrange for his extradition to Colorado.
