Arizona Man Apprehended For Making Alleged ‘death Threats’ Against A Presidential Candidate

A man who was being urgently sought by the police for making death threats against a presidential candidate and who also has multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest has been apprehended by the authorities.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s office, located in southern Arizona near Tucson, has issued a warrant for the arrest of Ronald Lee Syrvud, a 66-year-old individual wanted in Wisconsin for various alleged offenses. These offenses include failure to appear in court and driving under the influence.

Syrvud is wanted by the police for multiple offenses, including a hit-and-run incident in Graham County, southern Arizona. Additionally, he faces a felony charge for failing to register as a sex offender. Cochise County also issued an absconder hold on Syrvud for the same charge, as he left the jurisdiction unlawfully. Authorities, as reported by Scripps News Tucson, have highlighted these allegations against him.

Arizona police have recently released information about Syrvud and are seeking assistance from the public in locating him. According to authorities, his last known residence was in Benson, Arizona.

According to a statement from the police, they were actively searching for him as a person of interest in relation to threats made to kill a presidential candidate.

The police later updated their statement on Thursday, stating that Syrvud was apprehended without any issues.

Former President Donald Trump’s visit to the southern border in Cochise County coincided with the arrest.

According to his website’s events page, the former president had a rally planned in Glendale, Arizona on Friday.

At an outdoor rally in Asheboro, North Carolina, Trump addressed his supporters from a stage enclosed by bulletproof glass, a new security measure approved by the Secret Service.

During the rally, there was a moment when the former president left the stage to attend to a distressed attendee. Secret Service agents quickly surrounded him for protection.

In July, Donald Trump made a return to Pennsylvania, the very state where he had faced an assassination attempt earlier in the same month. During a rally, a gunman fired upon the crowd, targeting Trump himself. Tragically, one person lost their life and two others were injured in this shooting incident that took place on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania.
