Former Alabama Offensive Lineman Returns To The Birmingham Stallions

Deonte Brown is set to make a comeback in the United Football League, following his championship win with the Birmingham Stallions. However, despite his success, he only managed to play in one regular-season game in 2024.

On Wednesday, the UFL announced that the former Alabama guard has re-signed with the Stallions.

Brown, who had spent three seasons with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, made the move to Birmingham for the 2024 spring-football season. He began his stint with the Stallions as the starting left guard, but unfortunately, his time on the field was cut short. During the team’s first game against the Arlington Renegades on March 30, Brown suffered an ankle injury in the opening quarter, which ultimately led to his placement on the injured reserve.

Brown was unable to play for the rest of the regular season. However, he made a comeback in reserve roles for two crucial games. He contributed to the team’s 31-18 victory over the Michigan Panthers in the USFL Conference Championship Game on June 8 and played a part in the 25-0 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL Championship Game on June 16.

During his time at Austin High School in Decatur, Brown’s exceptional skills on the field earned him the prestigious Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A Lineman of the Year Award in 2015. This recognition came as no surprise as he played a crucial role in leading his team to the AHSAA Class 6A semifinals.

In the middle of the 2018 season, Brown got his first opportunity to start at Alabama. It was in his last game with the Crimson Tide that they dominated Ohio State, winning 52-24 in the CFP national championship game and finishing the 2020 season undefeated.

Brown became a member of the Panthers after being chosen in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. During his time with Carolina, he participated in three regular-season games.
