Thieves Sentenced For Stealing $65k Worth Of Merchandise From Northland Stores In Unrelated Crimes

Three individuals have been arrested and taken into custody after carrying out separate crimes in various stores across Platte County in Missouri.

“Retail theft is on the rise in the United States, posing an increasing danger to the public. Eric Zahnd, the Platte County Prosecuting Attorney, emphasizes the need for a strong response to combat this issue. He asserts that aggressive prosecution of prolific or violent shoplifters is essential in Platte County.”

According to court documents, three separate cases involving several popular stores and over $65,000 worth of stolen property over several years have been reported.

Marvin Calhoun received a 20-year sentence for first degree robbery and a 10-year sentence for armed criminal action on Monday, Aug. 19, as ruled by a Platte County judge. These sentences will be served concurrently, and Calhoun will have to serve 85% of the sentence before being considered for parole.

In October 5, 2018, Calhoun committed a robbery at the Dick’s Sporting Goods store located in Zona Rosa. According to court documents, he brandished a firearm and intimidated a store employee while making his escape with a basket filled with Kansas City Chiefs merchandise.

Asia Marshall has been sentenced to seven years in prison for second-degree robbery and 11 other crimes after pleading guilty. The crimes were committed by Marshall between May and December 2023, according to court documents.

Marshall, according to court documents, was involved in a robbery at the Bath and Body Works store in Zona Rosa. During the court proceedings, Marshall confessed that his accomplice had assaulted a clerk through multiple punches before they both made off with stolen items.

According to the documents, it was revealed that Marshall engaged in shoplifting activities at the PINK store, Sephora at Zona Rosa, and ULTA Beauty Store in Platte County in 2023. The total value of the stolen items amounted to over $35,000.

Aaliyah Walker received a six-year prison sentence for the offenses she committed from March 2021 to March 2024.

According to court documents, it has been revealed that Walker has been implicated in the theft of over $30,000 from various stores in Platte County, including Bath and Body Works, Rally House, Sunglasses Hut, Victoria’s Secret, and Sephora.
