A New Jersey Bus Driver Is Seen Brutally Attacking And Choking A Passenger Who Spat On Him: Video

A New Jersey Transit bus driver has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a passenger and putting him in a chokehold in a nasty fight captured on film.

The incident occurred after the passenger allegedly spat at the driver during a bus ride.

Following the violent exchange on a busy bus in Newark on Friday afternoon, ‘RLS Media‘ caught the bus driver, Toron Walker.

According to the video, Walker grips the passenger’s neck and forces him into a seat before brutally flinging him into the bus aisle.

Before the altercation, Walker, as reported by the ‘New York Post,’ can be heard urging passengers to relocate to the back of the bus.

The camera footage shows the driver repeatedly slapping the passenger in the head, allegedly demanding, “What’s wrong with you? Do you want to spit?”

Walker allegedly placed the man in a chokehold while scared passengers begged him to stop.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, when police got to the scene on Court Street near Broad Street, Walker was still attacking the passenger.

Authorities arrested Walker and charged him with aggravated assault. The passenger, who was also arrested for aggravated assault, was not seriously injured, according to authorities.

NJ Transit issued a statement in response to the incident.

“This matter is currently under investigation, and we’re unable to comment on any specific details at this time,” the NJ Transit said in a statement, per ‘Black Enterprise.’ “We don’t condone any form of assault aboard any of our vehicles or within our facilities.”

“We can confirm that our driver was assaulted prior to the altercation,” the spokesperson added. “We want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that assaulting a transit employee is a serious offense and can result in a fine, jail time, and/or a ban from riding the transit system.”
