“I absolutely adore the game. It’s an incredibly enjoyable sport with an abundance of action,” exclaimed Coffey.
She developed a passion for baseball early in her life.
She expressed, “I have been involved in playing baseball ever since I was just a little 3 or 4-year-old.”
According to Teaghan’s father and coach, Joe Coffey, Teaghan initially began playing T-ball. When asked why she didn’t want to play softball, Teaghan stated that she believed it was a sport for girls.
Coffey stands out among her peers in Wisconsin as one of the few girls her age who participate in select boys baseball.
Teaghan expressed her dislike for playing softball, stating that she finds it too girly for her taste.
Teaghan proudly dons the number 44 as a tribute to her beloved player.
Teaghan is a multi-talented player who excels in pitching, catching, and playing shortstop. In addition, she holds the cleanup position for the Junior Lancers. Her exceptional skills on the field have garnered attention from both MLB and USA Baseball.
Earlier this year, she had the honor of being chosen as one of the exclusive 96 girls to take part in the prestigious Trailblazer Series.
“It’s an incredible experience centered around girls and baseball. We were fortunate enough to receive an invitation to the Jackie Robinson Training Center in Vero Beach, Florida. Over the course of a weekend, we had the opportunity to play and interact with a wonderful group of coaches and players. It was a truly enjoyable and memorable time for me,” shared Teaghan with enthusiasm.
Teaghan has a strong aspiration to pursue a career in baseball, aiming to play at the high school level and ultimately realizing her dream of competing in the major leagues.
