Southern California shaman facing allegations of sexual assault and crimes against minors

A shaman from the Inland Empire, known as “Koyote the Blind,” is set to appear in court next week to face felony sex charges, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Ricardo Flores, a 59-year-old resident of Rialto, was arrested at the border last week. He is scheduled for arraignment on August 23, facing multiple charges including rape, penetration by a foreign object, sexual penetration with bodily injury on a minor over 14, and lewd acts with a child under 14.

Flores was arrested on August 7 after multiple victims reported sexual assaults to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. The victims identified the assailant as the same individual living on the 26000 block of Sandi Lane.

Officials stated that Flores is the religious leader of a shamanistic community across various locations in Riverside County. He was apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
