Texas DPS reveals August’s featured fugitive

The Texas Department of Public Safety has chosen Omar David Zavala, a criminal illegal immigrant from El Salvador, as the featured fugitive for August.

Since 2022, Harris County has pursued Zavala, 30, on charges of sexual assault, terrorism threat, and obstruction or retaliation. Zavala is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has a striking tattoo on his right forearm.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has increased the prize to $4,000 for tips received in August that led to Zavala’s arrest. Gov. Greg Abbott’s Public Safety Office funds Texas Crime Stoppers, which offers monetary rewards for information leading to an arrest. In order to qualify for monetary incentives, tipsters must provide information to police through one of the following three methods.
