The parents of Jarrett Brooks, a teenager from Arizona who disappeared over a year ago, hold onto hope that their son is alive. They believe that Jarrett may have been picked up by someone after leaving their home.
During an interview on “NewsNation Prime” on Sunday, Laura and Brian Brooks shared their optimism regarding the reported sightings of Jarrett across several states, suggesting that it may indicate he is still at large.
Laura Brooks expressed her optimism saying, “It gives us hope that people are aware of his face and actively searching for him.”
On July 4, 2023, Jarrett Brooks, who is now 17 years old, went missing after being grounded for causing damage to a family vehicle. According to security footage, he took a handgun from the family’s gun safe before leaving.
According to Brian Brooks, he initially dismissed any concerns about his son potentially harming himself, as Jarrett was well-versed in firearms and had a passion for hunting. Brian believed that his son was not the type of person to have such thoughts.
According to the parents, they hold a strong belief that someone picked up Jarrett after the search dogs failed to track his scent in a nearby pasture. Laura Brooks mentioned that despite conducting an extensive search in the area, there was no trace of her son.
Brian Brooks has addressed online speculation surrounding allegations of potential abuse at his home, calling them “totally false.” He clarified that child protective services had conducted an investigation into the matter and concluded that his home is a “loving” one.
Laura Brooks shared a heartfelt message for her son, expressing their unconditional love and concern for his safety and happiness, wherever he may be. “We love you, kid. We just want to know you’re safe and happy,” she said.
The authorities have upgraded the case to a potential homicide investigation as there have been no confirmed sightings for over a year.
Jarrett Brooks, a man with blond hair, brown eyes, and standing at 6 feet tall, was last seen sporting a black T-shirt with the word “America” on the front, blue jeans, cowboy boots, and a baseball hat.
