Kamala Harris to receive campaign support from three Jan. 6 police officers

Vice President Kamala Harris will receive support from a team of three officers, including two former U.S. Capitol police officers and one current officer from Washington D.C. They will be hitting the road this week to assist her.

According to Harry Dunn, a former Capitol Police officer, his main goal is to prevent Donald Trump from causing any further harm to our democracy. As per his statement to Axios, he firmly believes that Trump poses the biggest threat to our country’s political system.

This week, Dunn and Officer Daniel “Danny” Hodges of the Metropolitan Police Department will be making appearances in three cities in Michigan. The campaign is also organizing trips to North Carolina and Georgia.

The campaign has announced that Sergeant Aquilino Gonell, a former member of the Capitol Police, will be present at upcoming Harris-Walz events.

During an interview, Dunn highlighted former President Donald Trump’s promise to pardon individuals who were convicted for their actions on January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol. He also drew attention to Trump’s statement about becoming a “dictator on day one” if he were to win a second term.

According to Dunn, he is acquainted with Harris from her tenure in the Senate.

According to NBC, Dunn revealed that their former prosecutor would frequently engage in conversations with them. Being fond of law enforcement, she would often talk to the Capitol Police officers.

The Trump campaign, in response to the officers’ forthcoming campaign work, did not provide a direct response. However, they did mention that the administration of Biden and Harris poses a significant threat to democracy.
