Virginia Man Arrested By State Police For Illegally Possession Of Multiple Firearms And Body Armor

According to reports, a man from Virginia has been charged with possession of several weapons, high-capacity magazines, and body armor.

Last Saturday, a report was made to the State Police regarding weapons found inside a vehicle at the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site in West Milton, home to the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. The State Police promptly responded to the incident.

According to the authorities, Matthew Sanchez, who is 28 years old, was found in possession of numerous weapons, illicit high-capacity magazines, a ballistic vest, and controlled substances.

As a contractor, Sanchez was employed at the facility.

Police reported that no weapon was displayed or any threat was made by the individual. The weapons were discovered during a standard security check.

The charges against Sanchez include 16 counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful purchase of body armor, and criminal possession of a rapid-fire medication device.

Upon appearing in Saratoga Springs City Court, he was arraigned and subsequently sent to Saratoga County Jail. His bail was set at a total of $40,000 cash, $80,000 bond or $400,000 partially secured bond.
