Former John Deere Employees Consider Legal Action Over Unfair Dismissal

According to WQAD News 8, John Deere is facing a potential lawsuit from ex-employees in the midwest who claim they were wrongfully terminated. Attorney Megan Bonanni revealed that both John Deere and Ford had employed the services of the same consulting firm to develop their layoff plans.

A group of former Ford employees filed a lawsuit against the automaker, alleging age discrimination played a role in the layoffs. Interestingly, the same firm representing the plaintiffs has analyzed Deere’s recent layoffs and found striking similarities. Deere has yet to provide a comment on the matter. In July, the company laid off around 300 salaried workers, and this year, nearly 1,500 production workers across Iowa and Illinois lost their jobs.
