A man from Pennsylvania has been charged with election fraud for reportedly casting two votes in the general elections of 2020 and 2022 in Montgomery County.
The US Attorney, Jacqueline C. Romero, made an announcement on Friday charging Philip C. Pulley, a 62-year-old resident of Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania, with falsely registering to vote, double voting, and election fraud.
According to the Justice Department, Pulley had registered to vote in Montgomery County in 2018. However, during the same time, Pulley was also registered to vote in Broward County, Florida. Recently, in 2020, Pulley allegedly registered to vote in Philadelphia by providing a false home address in Philadelphia and using a fabricated social security number.
According to reports, Pulley is said to have requested a mail-in ballot and cast a vote in both Broward County and Montgomery County during the 2020 presidential election. Similarly, in the 2022 general election, Pulley allegedly voted in both Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties.
In the event of being found guilty, Pulley could potentially face a maximum sentence of five years in jail, along with three years of supervised release. Additionally, there could be a financial penalty ranging from $10,000 to $250,000, and a $100 special assessment for each count.
Assistant United States Attorney Nancy E. Potts and Mark B. Dubnoff are prosecuting the case, with assistance from James Price, Senior Deputy Attorney General and Special Assistant United States Attorney. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office conducted the investigation.
Throughout both the 2020 and 2022 general elections, the Secretaries of State of Pennsylvania consistently upheld that there was no noteworthy voter fraud that impacted the results of any election.
