Texas Gov. Greg Abbott celebrates New arrest from ’10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants’ list

In an announcement made by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, it was revealed that Fabian Toribio-Martinez, who was one of Texas’ “most wanted” illegal immigrants, has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals. The 25-year-old Mexican national was apprehended on charges of raping a child and possession of a controlled substance. Toribio-Martinez was arrested at an apartment complex and is currently being held in the Williamson County Jail.

Governor Abbott took to social media to express his contentment with the recent arrest. He also used the opportunity to take a dig at the Biden administration stating, “That is one more criminal the Biden-Harris Administration let into our country that is now behind bars & off our streets.”

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Toribio-Martinez was arrested due to outstanding warrants from Travis County that were issued in January 2024 and October 2023. Although he had been deported in 2018, he reentered the country unlawfully and was arrested once again in 2023 for drug possession and resisting arrest. Notably, in January, the Austin Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

In early June, Governor Abbott and his team created the ’10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants’ list, which includes cash rewards ranging from $5,000 to $3,000 for any information that could lead to arrests.

According to Newsweek, the accused individuals on the list are all of Latino origin. The crimes they have been accused of range from murder with a deadly weapon to aggravated sexual assault of a child. Shockingly, seven of the individuals on the list have been suspected of sexually assaulting children.

The governor accused the Biden administration of dismantling all the effective border policies implemented by his predecessor, resulting in record high levels of illegal immigration. He emphasized that this surge includes dangerous criminals and terrorists who pose a threat to the safety of not only our state but also the entire nation.

Ever since the list became public, the Governor of Texas has been publicly celebrating every arrest that has been made, including two individuals who were apprehended within a week at the end of June.
