MPD Officer Apprehended On Statutory Rape Charge

On Tuesday, Lt. Kevin Michael Boyd turned himself in at the Kemper County Sheriff’s Department. The charge against him was based on a complaint that had been filed with Child Protective Service on May 16th.

The Meridian Police Department has announced that Boyd has been put on leave until further notice.

It is yet to be determined what his bond will be. Boyd is scheduled for his initial appearance on August 7th.
