On August 6, 2024, the Warrant/Fugitive Unit of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office accomplished their mission by capturing a fugitive, Dimitri Carswell. The 32-year-old from Washington, D.C. was wanted on several open warrants released by Prince George’s County. The apprehension was carried out successfully.
On August 6th, warrant deputies apprehended Carswell at a residence in Prince Frederick, following a tip-off that he was in the Calvert County area. Carswell was wanted for his involvement in two armed robberies, two armed carjackings, and other related charges. Fortunately, the arrest was made without any incident.
After being apprehended, Carswell was taken back to Prince George’s County, where the pending warrants will be executed.
Sheriff Ricky Cox thanked the committed members of the Warrant/Fugitive Unit for their prompt and proficient response in capturing a perilous fugitive. Cox emphasized that the safety of the community is their utmost concern, and this arrest is proof of the joint efforts of law enforcement agencies in ensuring that wanted individuals are brought to justice.
