New Mexico offering abortion services to attract medical professionals from Texas

According to NMHealth, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico has initiated a “Free to Provide” campaign worth $400,000 to attract medical professionals from Texas to New Mexico.

New Mexico’s endorsement of legal abortion is being promoted through a comprehensive initiative that involves full-page newspaper ads in five major newspapers and billboards.

According to a recent release, in an effort to draw medical professionals to New Mexico, the state has put up six billboards bearing the slogan “Freedom to Provide” in and around Houston Medical Center. Additionally, the state has taken out full-page ads in major Texas newspapers such as the Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, San Antonio Express-News, Austin American-Statesman, and Fort Worth Star-Telegram, making their pitch to potential medical recruits.

Texas medical professionals were the target audience of the ads that showcased an open letter penned by Lujan Grisham.

Lujan Grisham highlighted the contrasting abortion laws of Texas and New Mexico in her statement. While Texas restricts abortions for elective reasons, New Mexico permits legal abortions for any reason throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy.

“I have immense respect for healthcare professionals who continue to provide exceptional care to patients in Texas, despite the restrictions they face,” she expressed. “However, for those of you who are no longer willing to work under such limitations, I extend an invitation to practice in New Mexico. We prioritize the protection of medical freedoms, and we are taking proactive measures to prevent the situation that occurred in Texas from repeating in our state.”

Lujan Grisham emphasized that she firmly believes that the government should not have a say in regulating abortion.

She wrote that New Mexico offers a wonderful lifestyle and work environment, with breathtaking natural vistas, a mild climate, and a supportive and proficient medical community. The state values its distinctiveness, which encompasses safeguarding women’s health and their right to access abortion. She pledged to uphold the fundamental right of healthcare providers to give exceptional care to their patients in New Mexico without any interference.

She extended a warm invitation to all healthcare professionals, including nurses, residents, physician assistants, and doctors, to come and experience the wonders of the Land of Enchantment. In this beautiful state, you can provide the best care for your patients without any constraints.

In an effort to retain top-quality healthcare professionals, the state has launched an initiative. The state is optimistic that this program will prove to be beneficial in retaining and attracting skilled healthcare workers.

According to the recent announcement, the aim of this program is to enhance healthcare services for the people of New Mexico by attracting and retaining highly skilled medical professionals. The state is offering attractive incentives and a hospitable professional atmosphere to ensure that it becomes a preferred destination for healthcare practitioners searching for a fulfilling and supportive work environment. The ultimate goal is to improve the overall quality of healthcare services in New Mexico and provide better medical care to its residents.
