Democrats urged voters to oppose constitutional amendments on the ballot

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers teamed up with state and local Democratic leaders to encourage voters to oppose two constitutional amendments featured on this year’s August primary ballot.

The state legislature would be solely responsible for allocating federal funds if the two amendments are approved. This would mean that the governor would lose the power that has been in place for decades, without any specific requirements.

According to Governor Evers, the recent amendments made by the Republican party indicate that they are taking over the decision-making process. He believes that the Republicans in the legislature are seeking to gain control over these matters. On the other hand, Republicans argue that the amendments are essential in order to keep a check on the governor’s unchecked power.

According to Democrats, allocating funds for disaster or emergency response would become more difficult as it would require legislation.
