On August 2nd, Michael Anthony Woods II received a federal prison sentence of 60 months, which is equivalent to 5 years, for being in possession of cocaine with the intention to distribute it.
In May 2023, Woods was arrested by Brewton Police officers for violating a protection order. During the arrest, a considerable amount of cocaine and crack cocaine was found in his vehicle, leading to his sentencing.
During the search of a Dodge Charger parked in Woods’ driveway, law enforcement officials discovered drugs weighing approximately 608 grams. This discovery prompted an investigation by both the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Brewton Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney George F. May handling the prosecution of the case.
The sentence in this case was handed down by Judge Kristi K. DuBose of the United States District Court, who served as the presiding judge.
