Former Alabama DB Terrance Howard dies in North Carolina following a tragic accident on Thursday

According to KHOU, Terrance Howard, a former Alabama football player, passed away on Thursday. Howard began his football career as a walk-on at Alabama before moving to the transfer portal. He was set to join the North Carolina Central University team this autumn after accepting a full-ride scholarship offer.

While in the process of moving his belongings from Alabama to North Carolina, Howard was involved in an auto accident. As he stepped out of his vehicle to assess the situation and check on the other person involved, he was suddenly struck by a moving vehicle. Tragically, Howard was rushed to a hospital in North Carolina where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Brooke Tigtig, who is the mother of Howard’s girlfriend, explained to KHOU earlier this week that Howard was picked up by authorities without any identification, causing him to be classified as a John Doe. He was then taken to one hospital before being transferred to another, which made it difficult for his parents to be contacted.

After sustaining critical injuries, Howard’s family had launched a GoFundMe campaign to transfer him to a specialized hospital in Houston, Texas. The fundraiser garnered an impressive $46,000 in donations, yet despite their efforts, the family was unable to arrange the transfer before Howard tragically passed away due to his injuries.
