FEMA dispatches Maryland and Virginia first responders for relief efforts during Tropical Storm Debbie

Maryland and Virginia first responders are being deployed to assist FEMA in responding to Tropical Storm Debbie.

45 members of Maryland County Fire and Rescue Service will join the deployment of MD Task Force 1 (TF-1) to South Carolina.

Tonight, they will leave with six boats and two dogs.

FEMA has activated Fairfax County’s VA-TF1 to provide assistance in the affected region. A 45-person, Type 3 Urban Search and Rescue Team will be deployed by the team to assist in the rescue efforts.

The destination of this team is still unknown and has not been disclosed yet.
