3 killed And 6 injured in D.C. during violent start to Saturday

On Saturday morning, a series of shootings and a stabbing attack in the District resulted in the loss of three lives and injuries to four individuals. Additionally, two people were left injured as a result of the stabbing. The events of that morning were violent and tragic.

Metropolitan Police officers were busy responding to crime scenes in various neighborhoods throughout Northeast and Southeast when several incidents occurred over a six-hour period early Saturday.

As of now, the authorities have made only a single arrest in the wake of the violent incident.

Shortly after 1 a.m., law enforcement officials responded to their first shooting of the night. The incident took place on the unit block of M Street Northeast, where a man and a teenager lost their lives due to gun violence. In addition, a man and a woman were also wounded but are expected to recover.

The victims of the tragic incident were identified by MPD as Antonio Williams, aged 33, from Capitol Heights, Maryland, and Terrell Osbourne Jr., aged 18, from Northwest.

Law enforcement officials are currently in search of a 2019 Honda Accord in white, which is believed to be linked to the shooting incident.

Just a few blocks north on the 1600 block of Eckington Place Northeast, a man and a woman were stabbed, according to police reports minutes later.

According to police, the two victims are anticipated to pull through from their injuries. The authorities have taken a suspect into custody, but they have not released the individual’s identity at this time.

Gunshots were heard at around 1:30 a.m. on the 800 block of H Street Northeast, as per the authorities. However, no victims were spotted in the vicinity. Later, the police confirmed that a woman had taken herself to the hospital for treatment of gunshot injuries that were not life-threatening.

In Southeast, a comparable occurrence took place shortly after. According to the police, they received a call about a shooting on the 2800 block of Hartford Street Southeast, but when they arrived at the scene, there was no victim present. Subsequently, MPD discovered that a man was being treated for a gunshot wound at a hospital.

A fatal shooting by an apartment complex in Southeast Anacostia marked the end of a series of violent incidents.

Around 6:45 a.m. on the 1500 block of Butler Street Southeast, Davon Mangum, 38, of Southeast was discovered lying lifeless in the parking lot by the police.

The suspect’s image was released by MPD, depicting a man with a dark complexion donning a black hooded jacket, black pants, black shoes, and sunglasses.
