Aerosmith, the iconic rock band, has unexpectedly announced its retirement from touring and has canceled all remaining shows of its “Peace Out” farewell tour.
In a recent announcement, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame revealed that Aerosmith’s lead singer, Steven Tyler, will be unable to make a complete recovery from his vocal injury. As a result, the band members have collectively decided to stop performing live shows.
The band expressed their gratitude in a statement, acknowledging that it has been an honor for them to have their music be a part of people’s lives. They recognized the significance of their music being played in clubs, on massive tours, and during both grand and private moments. The statement conveyed the band’s appreciation for the fans who have given them a place in their personal soundtracks.
“As a band, we have always aimed to leave a lasting impression on our audience with our performances. Steven’s voice is truly unique and he has put in countless hours of hard work to bring it back to its former glory after his injury. Despite having the best medical team by his side, we have seen him struggle to recover. Unfortunately, it has become evident that a complete recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. As a group of close-knit brothers, we have made the tough but necessary decision to retire from touring.”
Instead of resuming their final tour in September, Aerosmith has decided to cancel all upcoming shows, including their final concert on February 26, 2025, at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The band had only one other scheduled stop in New York state on February 23 at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

The iconic band has been entertaining audiences for over half a century. The talented members of the group include lead vocalist Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer John Douglas, and guitarist Brad Whitford. All of them are now in their 70s. Unfortunately, founding drummer Joey Kramer was not part of the tour, as he was taking some time off to focus on his family and health.
After only three shows, Aerosmith had to suspend and reschedule their farewell tour, which was initially planned for early 2023. The reason behind this sudden change was the severe injury to Tyler’s larynx, who is now 76 years old.
For decades, Aerosmith was one of the most significant bands worldwide, captivating audiences with iconic hits such as “Dream On,” “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Crazy,” “Janie’s Got a Gun,” “Livin’ on the Edge,” and their historic Run-DMC collaboration, “Walk This Way.” They made history by being the first band to have their own “Guitar Hero” video game and played at some of the most prominent events, including the Super Bowl and the FIFA World Cup.
Aerosmith expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all those who were excited to hit the road with them for one last time. They acknowledged their expert crew, incredible team, and the thousands of talented individuals who made their historic runs possible. In a statement released on Friday, the band extended their final thanks to their fans, whom they consider the best on planet Earth. They urged their fans to continue playing their music loud and to always dream on, as their fans have made their dreams come true.
