On Tuesday, authorities detained an Iowa City man for allegedly beating a woman in the head with a rock, strangling her, and confronting them with a hammer.
According to court papers, authorities arrived at a home around 10 p.m. to find a woman with a cut on her head and blood flowing down her face and arms.
The woman informed police that Tarig Badri Hag, 64, smacked her in the head with a rock. After beating her, she claims he placed his hands over her neck, preventing her from breathing.
During the emergency reaction, officers led Badri Hag outside and told him to leave the house. However, he raced back inside, got a hammer, and returned outside. The cops requested Badri Hag drop the hammer. However, Badri Hag refused, leading to his subsequent tasing.
Badri Hag has been charged with domestic abuse-aassault, domestic abuse-assault restricting the flow of air or blood, deliberate injury-causing bodily injury, and interference with official activities.
