Gov. Evers Gives Over 150 People A Second Chance By Granting More Pardons

On Friday, Governor Evers of Wisconsin made a significant announcement that will give more individuals a chance to start anew in life. He granted an additional 153 pardons, bringing the total number of pardons granted to 1,264 people, according to officials.

According to Governor Evers, one of the most rewarding aspects of his job is learning about the lives, jobs, and families of individuals who have worked hard to learn from their past mistakes and grow as individuals.

When an individual is convicted of a felony, they lose certain rights. However, a pardon is an official act of forgiveness that restores these rights. This includes the right to hold certain professional licenses, hold public office, and even serve on a jury.

If you were convicted of a felony in Wisconsin and have completed your sentence five or more years ago with no pending criminal charges, you are eligible to apply for a pardon.
