Thursday morning witnesses a minor earthquake in North Georgia

Early Thursday morning, Georgia experienced an earthquake, according to reports.

According to the United States Geological Survey, a powerful earthquake occurred near Eton, just before 2 a.m. on Thursday night.

Located south of the Tennessee border, Eton is a quaint town worth visiting.

According to the USGS, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 2.4 and it occurred at a depth of 9.2 kilometers.

According to Severe Weather Team 2, earthquakes with a magnitude less than 3.0 are generally not noticeable.

Thankfully, no injuries or damages have been reported in the aftermath of the earthquake.
