The South Carolina Republican Party alleges that Kamala Harris’ campaign is engaging in an unlawful fundraising scheme.

The South Carolina Republican Party has filed a complaint to the Federal Election Commission regarding the transfer of funds between President Joe Biden’s previous reelection campaign and the new presidential campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris. The complaint has been submitted, alleging that the transfer of funds was not in compliance with the FEC regulations.

According to more than a dozen state parties, including the SC GOP, Kamala Harris’ team has allegedly misused $96 million since receiving the funds from Biden’s campaign prior to her formal nomination at the Democratic National Convention.

According to SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick, Joe Biden cannot simply hand over $96 million to Kamala Harris as the funds were designated specifically for ‘Biden for President’. McKissick emphasized that there is no joint bank account with a vice-presidential candidate until both nominees are officially selected by their respective parties. He viewed Harris’ attempt to access the funds as a blatant and illegal money grab.

In response to the criticism, the Harris campaign has come out swinging, claiming that Republicans are simply envious of the renewed energy and momentum that Democrats are experiencing leading up to the general election.

According to a statement provided to CNN, spokesperson Charles Kretchmer Lutvak stated that the baseless legal claims made by Republicans to suppress votes and steal elections may cause distraction. He added that Democrats are energized to defeat Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, and they will focus on signing up volunteers, talking to voters, and winning the election.

An FEC complaint has been filed by the Trump campaign.
