Fire at JFK Airport in New York causes 9 injuries and numerous flight cancellations and delays

On Wednesday morning, a small fire at JFK Airport in New York caused minor injuries to nine individuals and disrupted numerous flights.

Around 7:15 a.m., an escalator on Concourse C caught fire and emitted smoke throughout Terminal 8.

Approximately 960 individuals were evacuated from the vicinity and relocated to a different section of the terminal. Fortunately, only minor smoke inhalation injuries were sustained by the nine affected individuals, and four of them were taken to the hospital for further examination.

After the FDNY ventilated the terminal, it was given the green light to reopen.
