Medical providers in South Carolina are now refusing to offer healthcare services to both transgender youth and adults.
On Tuesday, the Medical University of South Carolina officials declared that they will discontinue offering gender-affirming care.
As of May 21, a new law has been enforced that prohibits individuals under the age of 18 from receiving any type of gender-affirming care or procedures. The law also specifies that no public funds can be utilized, either directly or indirectly, for gender-affirming care.
