As the Democratic Party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris is generating a lot of buzz. Many are wondering if her presence on the ticket will encourage more women to exercise their right to vote.
State and national leaders had already predicted that women voters would have a crucial role in electing the next president of the United States, even before President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.
Trish Batten, the Chair of the Lee County Democratic Party, emphasized the importance of female empowerment by saying, “As a woman, I stand firm and encourage all women to do what is necessary.”
South Georgia residents are increasingly advocating for their participation in the electoral process. In the previous election, over 3 million women were recorded as active voters, and this year, local political figures anticipate even greater female turnout at the polls.
Will Davis, Chair of the 2nd Congressional District, expressed his excitement saying, “This is unprecedented, highly anticipated, and something that we have been looking forward to. It is yet another moment in history in the making.”
According to WALB, local Republican leaders are confident in garnering increased support from women for Donald Trump’s agenda, particularly in light of Kamala Harris’ entry into the presidential race.
According to Bruce Fykes, the Republican Chairman of Thomas County, the policies that were advocated by former President Trump will remain unchanged. In addition, he noted that women have displayed a heightened level of interest in these policies, suggesting that the level of support is stronger than ever before.
Political leaders acknowledge that regardless of whether a female or male running mate is opposing Donald Trump, women’s history has come full circle, and the significance of their vote cannot be undermined ever again.
Piper Lowe, a member of the State RNC Committee, believes that the upcoming election will be greatly influenced by women who make up a significant portion of the voting population. As per her, this is a natural progression considering the current scenario.
Without a doubt, political leaders are convinced that this year’s presidential election will make history, regardless of the final outcome.
