Delaware woman rescued by first responders after her family’s boat capsizes during crabbing trip

On Saturday, a woman’s life was saved by first responders, and a family from Delaware is grateful for their prompt action.

According to reports, while crabbing just south of Augustine Beach, the family’s crab lines got tangled with the propellers.

According to the family, the boat began to take on water as the winds shifted and the tide started to come in.

Donna Wallace was caught off guard when her family’s boat capsized, leaving her stranded and unable to escape.

According to her, she was trapped for a duration of roughly 40 minutes.

According to Wallace, he found himself submerged in water with only a small air pocket inside the cabin. Despite the terrifying situation, he managed to stay composed and focused on survival. As he put it, “You know it’s survival, you know, you have to do what you gotta do.”

Gratefully, Wallace was able to hear her husband’s voice, which gave her assurance that help was on the way.

According to authorities, Wallace was freed from the boat by rescue teams who utilized a chainsaw to cut through it.

Thankfully, there were no injuries sustained by anyone involved in the incident.
