On Tuesday, July 16, severe thunderstorms caused trees to come crashing down in the region, leaving thousands of Pennsylvanians without power.
Based on the outage maps of PPL and Met-Ed, the affected areas are primarily concentrated in the following locations:

- Fontaine
- Atglen
- Wyomissing
- Lanark
- Hanover
- Brogue/Collinsville
- Emigsville
- Tinicum (Bucks)
At the moment, Met-Ed has not provided any specific timeline for the restoration of power to the 17,000 customers currently without service. On the other hand, PPL has not disclosed the total number of affected customers, but has stated that it anticipates completing most of the necessary repairs by 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17th.
According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring in more humid conditions accompanied by the possibility of severe weather and thunderstorms.
