Police Identify 20-year-old Woman Found Deceased Near Nashville Greenway

The discovery of an unidentified woman shot near the trailhead of a Nashville greenway prompted an investigation.

According to the Metro Nashville police, a woman who was unresponsive and had been shot in the head was discovered at the Alta Lake Greenway trailhead on the 3800 block of Dodson Chapel Road in Hermitage at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The discovery was made by employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

According to police, a young woman in her 20s with long braids, dressed in dark pants and a pink bra, was the victim of the incident. Unfortunately, she had no identification on her.
