On Monday, Governor Henry McMaster of South Carolina offered a significant gesture by extending the state’s 50 delegates to Donald Trump during the roll call of the Republican National Committee.
McMaster proudly declared that South Carolina, a state steeped in history from the mountains to the sea and where the fight for liberty has been ongoing since 1670, casts all 50 of its votes for President Donald J. Trump. He also noted that South Carolina was the site of the Revolutionary War and where Trump won his first primary in 2016, marking the beginning of his presidency.
One of Trump’s most dependable political allies is McMaster, who is currently heading his re-election campaign in South Carolina.
In January, McMaster and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette made their way to New Hampshire to join Trump at a rally.
On Monday’s roll call, North Carolina’s Lt Gov. Mark Robinson, who is running as the GOP’s gubernatorial candidate, proudly represented the Tarheel State.
During the convention, Robinson referred to Trump as “America’s Braveheart” and allocated 62 out of the state’s 74 votes to him, while the remaining 12 were allocated later on.
