5-year-old boy found dead inside Belmont home, NYPD Says

A tragic incident occurred in Belmont that left a 5-year-old child dead. The NYPD reported that the child was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in his bed inside an apartment building on Bassford Avenue at around 3 a.m. on Sunday. Despite efforts to revive him, the boy was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. Police sources revealed that there were no visible signs of injuries on the child’s body. However, the apartment was said to be in poor condition and the family was known to the Administration for Children’s Services. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
