After experiencing a major crash on the final lap of the NTT IndyCar Series race at Iowa Speedway, the driver from Idaho, who races for A.J. Foyt Racing, was taken to a nearby hospital for imaging. He got airborne during the crash and rolled several times before finally coming to a stop upside down in his No. 41 Chevy.
The team announced that Sting Ray has been discharged from Mercy One Des Moines Medical Center following a thorough evaluation. The AMR Safety Team’s prompt response, IndyCar Medical staff’s meticulous care, and the high safety standards of IndyCar’s race cars allowed Sting Ray to walk away from a terrible accident. Sting Ray’s family and AJ Foyt Racing expressed their gratitude to everyone who sent their well wishes and supported them.
