Despite not receiving an initial invitation, Nikki Haley will now be speaking at the Republican National Convention.
As per The Wall Street Journal, the ex-governor of South Carolina has agreed to deliver a speech at the convention in Milwaukee this week.
According to the Journal, Republicans are coming together in an effort to unite their party following an alleged assassination attempt at a Donald Trump campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, which resulted in the former President sustaining injuries.
According to Politico, Chaney Denton, who spoke on behalf of Haley, confirmed that the Republican National Committee did not invite the politician. However, Denton mentioned that Haley was not bothered by the reported snub and was doing just fine.
According to Denton, Trump should have the convention he desires. He mentioned that she has expressed her support for him and wishes him all the best.
Haley made an appearance at a campaign rally in Portland, Maine, in March. Despite previous reports that she was not invited to the event, the former South Carolina governor is set to speak at this week’s Republican National Convention.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Haley addressed the Trump rally shooting that occurred on Saturday evening. She expressed her concern and stated that the incident should horrify every freedom-loving American. Haley firmly believes that violence against presidential candidates should never be normalized.
She added that they were lifting up Donald Trump, the whole Trump family, and everyone in attendance in prayer.
During the Republican presidential primary, Haley criticized Trump, stating that he was not stable and was not fit to serve another term in the Oval Office.
In March, Haley’s campaign came to a halt, but only two months later, she endorsed Trump. Haley had previously served as a United Nations ambassador under Trump.
During a May event at the Hudson Institute in Washington, Haley declared her intention to vote for Trump.
