California deploys Multiple Officers to Republican National Convention in Wisconsin

Ahead of the Republican National Convention, California has dispatched 61 law enforcement officers to Wisconsin to extend their assistance.

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Service had coordinated the request for additional support as early as May.

Milwaukee will soon see the arrival of officers from Bakersfield, Fresno, and Long Beach police departments, as well as 40 members of the California Highway Patrol, who are being deployed to the city.

California Governor Gavin Newsom expressed his commitment to public safety and unity across party lines in his support for law enforcement colleagues in Wisconsin during the Republican National Convention. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring a secure environment for all participants.

Local, state, and federal law enforcement will collaborate with officers to ensure public safety. The duties of officers will encompass managing crowds, controlling traffic, and securing public areas.

Nancy Ward, the Director of Cal OES, emphasized the importance of backing up the law enforcement officials in Wisconsin and ensuring the safety of all the individuals involved in this major event. She expressed her confidence in the well-trained and skilled peace officers of California, who are adept at handling large-scale events, and their ability to bolster the security measures in Milwaukee.

Starting from Monday, July 15 to 18, the Republican National Convention will take place in the city of Milwaukee.
