The Finney County Historical Society’s annual Pre-Labor Day Rib Sale is offering hot and ready-to-eat pork spareribs or beef tri-tip roasts, with proceeds supporting exhibits at the Finney County Museum and FCHS programs for the community.
Orders may be placed through Aug. 23, with pick-up from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 31 – the Thursday before Labor Day – in the Mary Regan Conference Room at the museum, 403 S. Fourth Street in Garden City.
Two fully cooked options are available, including racks of pork spareribs, $32 each; and tri-tip beef roasts, $40 each. All are prepared by Webb’s Food Crew and BBQ.
Prices are unchanged for the fourth straight year and the sale is sponsored, as in past years, by the Garden City Telegram. The racks of ribs weigh about three pounds each and the roasts weigh up to four, though there is some natural variability.
In addition to their orders, each customer will receive an informative hand-out about the history of livestock production in Southwest Kansas.
Advance payment by cash or check is necessary and orders may be placed with any member of the FCHS staff or board, or by visiting the museum.
Office hours, via the north entrance, are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Exhibit hours, applicable at the main entrance, are 1 to 5 p.m. daily.
Information is available at 620-272-3664 and orders are subject to sell-out, based on smoker capacity.
