State Treasurer Rogers presents check to GC Achieve

On September 21, Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Rogers presented Lucas Sullivan, Garden City Achieve principal, and Deanna Clark, English teacher, a check for $2,500 as a winning school in the Choose My School Supply Drive through the State Treasurer’s office.

Clark nominated the school for the promotion. Winners were selected at random. The winning districts will receive $5,000, schools receive $2,500, and classrooms receive $1,000 for the purchase of school supplies.

The Choose my School Supply Drive allows Districts, Schools, and Teachers to nominate themselves and each other to receive some of the necessary funds they will need for a successful school year.

Supplies can include but are not limited to everything from pens, pencils, cleaning wipes, all the way to physical education equipment or new tablets for a classroom.

There are ten districts, schools, and classrooms that will be chosen throughout the state for the awards.  No taxpayer funds are being used in this promotion.
