Garden City Achieve recognized in Kansas FAFSA Challenge

Garden City Achieve was recently recognized as a winner in the Kansas FAFSA Challenge.

The Kansas FAFSA Challenge began in February 2021 as a friendly competition to improve the statewide FAFSA completion rate as a collaboration between the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) and Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE).

Schools are divided by their KSHSAA athletic divisions. Each division has at least two winners; one award goes to the school with the Highest FAFSA Completion Percentage and the other award recognizes the school with the Most Improved FAFSA Completion Percentage from the previous academic year.

The KBOR staff created an extra category for Virtual schools, alternative schools, or other types of schools not included in KSHSAA.

Garden City Achieve was recognized at a KSDE/KBOR board meeting on Sept 14. The school received top honors for the Virtual Schools & Academies in the Most Improved FAFSA Completion Percentage from the previous academic year. The school was one of the 16 award winning schools across the state for 2022.
