Vendors to converge at annual Flea Market Festival

More than 30 vendors from communities in Kansas, Colorado and Texas are converging for the Finney County Historical Museum’s 13th Annual Flea Market Festival of Antiques, Collectibles, Art and Crafts, set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, July 9, just south of the museum inside Lee Richardson Zoo.

In addition to the array of vendor booths along the sidewalks, thousands of quality donated goods will be on sale on the museum’s outdoor patio and indoor Mary Regan Conference Room.

The festival is sponsored by Commerce Bank and the Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau.  The 2021 gathering attracted nearly 2,700 shoppers from multiple Kansas communities.

Public admission is free.

Vendors this year have registered not only from Garden City and Holcomb, but also Las Animas, Colo., and Amarillo, Texas, as well as the Kansas towns of Bucklin, Quinter and Satanta.

Vendors will offer antiques and collectibles, baked goods, benches, varied beverages, bierocks, cinnamon rolls, clothing and militaria, cosmetics and lashes, cotton candy, culinary powders, dehydrated fruits and vegetables, DVDs, employment services, fabric crafts and sewn items.

Others will sell fashion accessories, financial products, frozen treats, fruit kabobs, garden pots, hardshell gourds, hamburgers and hot dogs, home décor, homemade pie, honey, household items, jewelry, chunky knitted goods, infused oils, kettle corn, mini macramé, hand-packed gourmet pickles, plants and succulents, purses, signage, skin care products, tools, vintage and contemporary toys, wooden cutouts and additional products.

Public access will be through the pedestrian arch entrance at Lee Richardson Zoo.

In addition to the museum’s festival, there will be a large car show on the zoo’s west green, conducted by the Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo entitled Jungle Run VII.  Car show public access is also through the arches.
