GCHS forensics performs well at final contests

The Garden City High School forensics team finished its Kansas State High School Activities Association season at the State Festival and at the State Speech Drama championship tournament on May 7. 

At the State Festival at Wichita Southeast, Carmen Tewell earned a 1 rating in Oration and Annalise York earned a 2 rating in Prose Interpretation.

At the State Championship Tournament at Olathe East, Savei Nymakope finished 5th in the state in Dramatic Interpretation, and Ashly Zemeño finished 6th in the state in Poetry Interpretation. 

In addition, Sam Jacobs was a semi-finalist in Humorous Interpretation and Shyla Cowles was semi-finalist in Poetry Interpretation.
